My Welcome Back

After over one year of taking an unplanned and unintentional break from writing, I have come back like the biblical prodigal son.

It is interesting how you think you have some things nailed down only for you to shock yourself. For me, it was how I never imagined I would not write for a whole year and the greatest mental laziness hit me so hard, I could not even document one of the most important journeys of my life -pregnancy and delivery.

Goes to show that any skill can be lost if not continually fanned by consistency and dedication.

Which raises the question about passion and the possibility of it being overrated. Is passion strong enough to conquer all or is it subject to other factors in life?

In my opinion, the latter is the case. People often attach too much expectation on passion but fail to account for reality like how the job that pays your bill might require your all and you have little to nothing to give to that passion. We also refuse to put into account the fact that you can have more than one thing you are passionate about and they are always in competition. Passion is great but it is not enough to make you a success in that area.

So why am I back? Because I realised you don’t have to wait for something drastic to happen before you take your life back. This is part of my move to getting my life back on track and not look back down the years thinking “I used to be a great writer but I don’t even know how to begin anymore”.

This is me snapping myself out of inertia into action. This is my welcome back into writing!

Let’s have fun together!
